We are looking for an experienced Senior Back End Developer to be part of our growing Technical team and enhance our health benefits platform.

What you'll own:

• You will be responsible for the implementation and enhancement of web applications using PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, MySQL.
• Develop, test, manage, maintain, ship, troubleshoot, and debug web applications and databases to ensure our systems are safe, dependable, resilient, high quality, & operate in optimum functionality.
• Integrate with 3rd party APIs.
• Write secured, concise, standardised, performance-optimized, testable, and reusable code that adheres to coding standards and best practices in a timely manner.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including sprint planning, stand-ups & stand-downs, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including system performance and integration challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product designers to translate business requirements and designs into technical solutions with great user experience in mind.

What you'll need:

• Extensive knowledge of PHP(8.x) language and its ecosystem toolsets, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• In-depth understanding of Laravel(10.x~12.x) framework and its components such as Collections, Events, Notifications, Queues, Scheduling, Query builder, Caching, Logging, Excel import/export and Blade Templating.
• Experience with MySQL 8 or PostgreSQL database, proficiency in SQL language, and understanding of database concepts such as ACID.
• Comfortable in using Git version control on GitHub and its related features.
• Comfortable navigating in a Linux environment and using the command line (bash).
• Have built and shipped at least two Laravel PHP web applications.
• Understanding of programming design patterns and principles such as Singleton, Factory, IoC, Adapter, DDD, and SOLID.
• Understanding the concepts of web security such as authentication & authorisation, encryption & hash, injection, CSRF/SSRF, tokens & secrets, etc.Have built and shipped at least two Laravel PHP web applications.
• Ability to write unit & functional tests using PHPUnit in Laravel.
• Familiar with modern JavaScript frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, and CSS framework Tailwind is a plus.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, server deployment, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, messaging queue, and monitoring tools is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in web frontend and backend development, including APIs.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Eng., Information Technology, or any similar technical field of study.
• Be self-motivated, proactive, multi-tasking, responsible, dependable, and enthusiastic team player.
• Great attitude, comfortable working across teams and interacting with various departments.
• Good communication skills, able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal form.
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, solution-focused, able to work independently to meet tight deadlines, and stay calm even in the face of big challenges.
